Lupus: Symptoms, Diagnosis, and Treatment

Lupus, formally known as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks healthy tissue throughout the body. Mental health matters. Depression and anxiety affect 30 to 50 percent of SLE patients. Fatigue, chronic pain, body image changes, and unpredictability of flares all contribute.
